1. STDs = Sexually transmitted diseases

2. Mostly women get affected. Men are carriers. (but men can also have symptoms)

3. Initially causes vaginal discharge: coloured, foul smelling, itchy

4. Later can spread upwards and cause – chronic pelvic (back) pain, infertility, ectopic pregnancy, menstrual problems

5. Prevention

•   Monogamous relation, use of condoms
•   Hygiene
•   Early treatment will prevent late consequences (No-4)

6. Treatment of partner is must.
